Solid black images in the Preview window

Description

Image engravings appear as solid black shapes, with no detail.

Solution

Toggling on Shade according to power

  • If you are using a dithered Image Mode such as Stucki or Jarvis, you may need to zoom in to see detail in the engraving.

  • If you are using 3D Sliced mode, make sure you have set the Image layer to engrave multiple Passes, and, for best results, that you've set an Angle Increment.

    When set up properly, with Show traversal moves enabled you should see the red areas of the Preview expand with each pass, as the laser travels over rather than engraving progressively larger (and lighter) areas of the image.
