Tangent Circle Generator
With the Tangent Circle Generator, you can select three circles and automatically create a circle tangent to those three circles - meaning that it touches each of the three circles at exactly one point.
To use the Tangent Circle Generator:
- Select 3 circles in your Workspace. Each circle must be an actual circle, with equal width and height, in order for the Tangent Circle Generator to work.
- Go to Tools → Generate Tangent Circle.
- LightBurn will show you all possible tangent circles in light red outlines.
- Hover over an outline to highlight it in bold and see it more clearly.
- Click to select the circle you want to use. The circle will be created on your currently active layer.
Troubleshooting¶
- Make sure your circles are actually circles, with equal height and width. You can draw circles with the ellipse tool by holding down Shift while drawing, or resize ellipses using the Numeric Edits Toolbar or Shape Properties Window.
- Make sure you've selected exactly three circles.
