Machine Size Mismatch
A machine size mismatch occurs when the machine size LightBurn reads from your device's firmware doesn't match the machine size saved in Device Settings.
Machine Size Mismatch
The error message reads "Your machine is configured as width x length but reports firmware width x firmware length. You may have connected to the wrong machine. It must be configured correctly for jogging to work."
This may be the result of entering an incorrect machine size during manual setup. It also may occur when the device's firmware machine size values set by the machine manufacturer are different from the physical working area, especially if you used Find My Laser to add the device.
It's important for your machine to be set to the correct size. If the machine size is set to be larger than the machine, the laser head can crash into the edges of its work area. If it's smaller than the actual size, you will be unable to use the full area of the laser.
Resolving the Error¶
You have three options to handle this error.
Update Machine Configuration¶
Click this button to automatically adjust the Device Settings to match the device's firmware. Check your device's user manual or contact your machine's manufacturer to verify the correct dimensions and make sure they match the firmware before choosing this option.
Disconnect¶
Disconnect from this machine. You can then make changes manually before reconnecting to it.
If you have multiple device profiles or connected machines, you can use the dropdown menus in the Laser Window to switch to the correct profile, or select the correct communications port to connect to a different machine.
Ignore¶
Ignore the error for this machine. The error will continue to return each time you connect to the machine until you correct the size mismatch. In most cases, you'll need to change the working size in Device Settings to correct the error.
In some rare cases, your machine's firmware may be set incorrectly. If this is the case, you will need to update the size in firmware using Machine Settings. This should be done with caution and only after verifying the correct size in your device's user manual.
